WHAT CHRISTMAS SHOULD REALLY MEAN...

Right after I wrote about how I spent this Christmas, I'd ventured over to Sulu-Design and read this. Which kinda made me feel ashamed of my little 'indulgence'.

Here is Susan's heartwarming story - thanks for sharing, Susan!

The snowfall in Portland this past week had me taking the bus to and from work every day. On one of the coldest, windiest, snow drivingest days of them all, I boarded the bus a stop before a thin older man got on. He was dressed in ragged clothes too thin to keep him warm, and was talking to himself and rocking back and forth. He sat down across from a well-dressed man who kept an eye on the thin man for the entirety of his ride. Just before the bus reached his stop, the well-dressed man stood up and handed the thin man his gloves - his hi-tech, expensive-looking gloves. The thin man looked up and asked, "For Christmas?" "Yes, Merry Christmas," said the well-dressed man as he exited the bus.
I hope this Christmas that your hands and hearts are warm, and that each of us spreads that warmth to those around us. Merry Christmas, friends.

WHAT CHRISTMAS MEANS TO ME (this year)...

...an excuse for an indulgent champagne brunch at The Ritz-Carlton for both of us... a quiet and enjoyable time together... not to forget a feeling of light-headedness for me after barely two glasses of champagne... DUH...

ALL THE LUCK IN THE WORLD

This lovely Christmas Tree on the Wall featured on The Style Files caught my eye. Made with "pretty but useless objects" that Jane Schouten has collected over the years, I am drawn by how simple, yet ingenious, the design is - and creative, and pretty, and eco-friendly, and... Well, you get the idea ;p

The talented Jane is from The Netherlands and she's a graphic designer, an artist, as well as the owner of online shop All the Luck in the World. Venturing over to her shop, which stocks unique and eclectic pieces that have been "found, made, re-styled with lots of love and pleasure", I was totally charmed. Here are some finds that I would love to have in my home one day...

P.S: I know the hood is useless in Singapore, but it'll keep me warm when we holiday at a cold climate! ;p

LITTLE MISS CAPUCINE

Once upon a time... from Capucha on Vimeo.

Love the sound of the French language. Especially when it's spoken by the irresistibly cute and precocious little Miss Capucine.
(via every little thing)

I LOVE HONGKONG...

... because (I'd thought) it's the nearest place to get my hands on Krispy Kreme & to bring some home - except they were due to pull out of HK on my third day there... :(

...for its quirky mix of old and new...

... for the shopping... which I. Seriously. Have. To. STOP.
